Random team generator. Fair in one tap.
Everyone joins from their phone with a code or QR. You choose how many teams. One tap shuffles the room, and each person sees their own team light up.

People
You’re in. When the host shuffles, your team appears here.
How it works
- Start a team room. You’re the host. A 6-letter code and a QR code appear.
- People join. They scan or type the code, enter a name, and show up in your list in their own colour.
- Choose the number of teams and press Shuffle. The server deals everyone out fairly.
- Everyone sees the teams at the same moment, with their own team highlighted. Reshuffle any time; copy the teams as text when you’re happy.
Good for
- Classrooms. Random groups for projects with no “can I be with my friend”. See the classroom group generator.
- Workshops and training. Break-out groups in ten seconds, re-mixed for the next exercise.
- Sport and games. Five-a-side, quiz teams, pub games. See the team picker.
- Hackathons and offsites. Mix departments on purpose by shuffling the whole room.
FAQ
How do people join?
Share the 6-letter code or the QR. They open it on their phone, type a name and appear in your list. No app, no account.
Is the shuffle fair?
Yes. The server shuffles the list and deals people round-robin, so team sizes differ by at most one. Everyone sees the same result.
Can I add people without a phone?
Yes. Type names by hand and they’re included in the shuffle.
How many people and teams?
Up to 200 people and 20 teams. The room erases itself after 6 quiet hours, 24 at most.
