Privacy Policy

Quick Note Share (“we”, “us”, or “our”) helps you share short notes across devices using a link or QR code. This page explains what data we process and why, including how temporary notes are handled, and how you can control your information.

What we collect

Note content you add. When you create a room and paste a note, we process the text so it can be viewed from other devices. You may optionally set a password and/or switch the room to read-only.

Room metadata. We process technical details needed to operate the service (for example: a randomly generated room ID, timestamps such as creation and expiry time, read-only and password flags).

Analytics data. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage (for example: how many people use the site and which pages are popular). Google Analytics may set cookies or read similar identifiers and receives standard device and event information (such as page views, referrers, approximate location from IP, and browser details). You can opt out by using browser-level tracking protection or Google’s tools.

Notes & retention

Temporary by design. Notes are intended for short-term transfer only. Our system is configured so that each room (and its note content) is automatically deleted after 24 hours from creation.

Password protection. If you add a password, we verify it on access. We never display passwords back to users. (For clarity: do not use a password you reuse elsewhere.)

Read-only mode. If you set a room to read-only, viewers with the link can read but not modify the note.

How sharing works

Rooms are unlisted: only people with the exact link or QR can access them. Be careful where you share the link/QR. Anyone with the link could open the note during the 24-hour window (and thereafter until auto-deletion occurs).

Cookies & similar technologies

We do not use advertising cookies. Google Analytics may set cookies to measure site usage and performance. You can control cookies in your browser settings or use built-in tracking prevention features. Disabling analytics cookies does not affect core note-sharing functionality.

Legal basis & purposes

We process note content to provide the service you request (operate rooms, render and share notes across devices). We process limited analytics to pursue our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the service.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect the service (for example: TLS in transit, access controls, and routine deletion of expired data). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please avoid sharing highly sensitive information.

Your choices

• No sign-in required. You can use the site without creating an account.
• Set a password. Add a password to restrict access to a room.
• Use read-only. Lock a room to prevent edits.
• Delete earlier. If the app provides a delete control, you can remove your note before the 24-hour expiry.
• Limit analytics. Use browser tracking protection, disable third-party cookies, or use Google’s opt-out tools.

International transfers

Depending on your location and our infrastructure, data may be processed in countries other than your own. We take steps to protect information in accordance with this policy.

Children’s privacy

Quick Note Share is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Third parties

We do not sell personal information. We use Google Analytics to measure usage. Google acts as an analytics provider and processes data as described in its own documentation and privacy policies.

Data retention

• Notes: auto-deleted after 24 hours.
• Room metadata: retained only as long as necessary to operate the service and enforce abuse prevention.
• Analytics: retained per our Google Analytics configuration; aggregated reports may be retained for trend analysis.

Your rights

Because we don’t require accounts, our ability to identify you is limited. Depending on your region, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. To exercise a right or ask a question, contact us using the email below.
